Battery Storage

Due to the UK’s Net Zero 2035 targets and volatile energy costs, there has never been a better time for Battery Storage. The UK is now generating up to 60% of its energy via renewable sources in peak summer months. With energy generation at all time high level and growing year on year, we need to find a way to storage energy at peak generation for winter months when energy generation is at its lowest.

Green Leaf Engineering specialise in providing battery storage options for our clients. Battery storage is best paired with a site which is generating energy from either solar, wind, nuclear etc. Most renewable energy generation is seasonal meaning they perform better is certain months resulting in excessive production in the summer but poor production in the winter.

Green Leaf’s job is to try and flatten the generation/usage over the full year to give constant, uninterrupted energy for our clients. The best way to do this is via battery storage.

Green Leaf utilise our in-house design department who have extensive knowledge in energy generation to ascertain how much excessive energy is produced from renewable technologies. We then use these figures as a blueprint for how much storage capacity we need.

This exercise is something which constantly needs to be reviewed and tweaked as we learn more about seasonal generation, which is why Green Leaf provide a dedicated aftercare service through our operation department, to ensure that sites which generate energy are maximising their usage or in some cases, sending back to the grid to assist other sites in their area.

Green Leaf pride themselves on having extensive experience in the commercial building services market, providing a tier one approach to our service. This can be seen from the below case studies which represent some of the largest projects delivered in the UK.
